Our travel insurance covers anyone who is under 75 at the time of taking out the policy. For a senior citizen single trip policy, first select your destination. On a single trip you can choose between cover within the UK, Europe, Australia and New Zealand or Worldwide (which will include the USA) So whether you are going away for a long weekend in this country, a week or two in the sun in Spain, a trip to New York or up to 31 days in Australia or New Zealand to see friends and family you can take our Single Trip policy to cover you. You can also decide if you want your personal belongings covered on the travel insurance. To find out if you need this cover first check with your household insurance, many now will cover you to take your personal belongings out of the country. House insurance also usually has a higher cover limit than that on travel insurance. All our policies will give you fully comprehensive cover if anything happens whilst you are away. Medical expenses are up to £5 million and cancellation cover is up to £3000. When you book a Single Trip policy your cancellation cover starts straight away so if you are taken ill before you are due to go on holiday the policy will cover you if you need to cancel.
If you planning on taking a number of trips within a twelve month period an Annual Multi Trip policy will cover you for the whole year. So instead of booking a Single Trip policy every time you travel, an Annual policy will allow you to travel as many times as you like without having to purchase a separate policy for every trip. However many times a year you go away you can travel safe in the knowledge that you will have full cover in case anything goes wrong. So if you are planning a spring break, a summer holiday in the sun and a trip over the Christmas period to visit family and friends they will all be covered on our policy. An Annual multi trip will also give you cancellation and baggage cover if you take a break in the UK. As long as you pre-book your accommodation and you are away from your home address for a least two nights you will be covered. You can make as many trips as you like within the year as long as each single trip does not exceed 31 days. Again, you can choose whether you want your personal possessions covered on the travel policy if they are not already covered under your house insurance. You can select the levels of cover you require and have a tailor-made policy. If you only take short trips near to home during the year you would only need cover for Europe. This will cover all the European countries, all countries bordering the Mediterranean and the Canary Islands. If you prefer to go long-haul and travel to Australia, New Zealand or America the Worldwide cover would be the one for you. With our Annual multi trip both adults insured under the policy can travel independently.
Just because you are over 65 it does not mean that you cannot take advantage of the winter sports scene. We can offer ski and snowboard cover for anyone up to the age of 68. This would give you cover for any winter sports trips that you make, giving you full medical cover if you have an accident on the slopes. It will also cover any of you own ski equipment that may be damaged or stolen. If you hire your skis you must make sure that it is covered by the rental company. Winter sports also gives you cover for piste closure or if there is an avalanche and you are unable to ski.
For even more peace of mind you can upgrade you policy to give you Superior Cover. For a small premium you can increase the cover levels on certain sections of the policy. It will increase the cancellation cover by £2000, travel delay by 50% and it will double the cover on Legal Advice, Hijack and Mugging and hospital benefit. By upgrading to Superior it will also reduce the excess payable on any claim.
